The first 24 to 48 hours are the most important following a tooth extraction.
Avoid smoking, spitting, rinsing and drinking anything thru a straw for the first 24 hours.
After 24 hours rinse your mouth with some salt water two to three times per day for 7 to 10 days.
Pain usually decreases after 48 to 72 hours and can usually be managed with over the counter anti inflammatory or analgesics like advil or Tylenol.
If severe pain persist for more then 5 to 7 days then contact the office for follow up treatment.
